Cross-country Skiing
in Bonner County.

Blue Gate Nordic is a non-profit, grassroots organization dedicated to providing low cost, donation based Nordic skiing in Bonner County. We are a small volunteer based organization with a shoestring budget that aims to provide multiple Nordic skiing venues in Bonner County.

Ski Destinations

Blue Gate Nordic groomed two locations for the 2022-23 ski season:

  • Blue Gate meadow on Syringa Heights with a 5k loop.  This is a flat, beginner area.

  • Hickey Farms in the Selle Valley with a 5k loop in the meadow.  We are currently working on grooming another 5k in the forest.  This venue has a blend of rolling hills and flat terrain.  Hickey Farms is a 360 acre working farm.

Help Us Achieve Our Goals

We are currently applying for 501c3 NON PROFIT status and we are beginning a fundraising campaign to buy a new snowmobile and new Ginzu groomer to maintain both venues in 2023/2024.

About Me - David Reseska

I have been volunteering my time grooming Nordic ski trails for over 10 years now. It all started at the University of Idaho Extension property on Boyer Avenue when I met Ross Longhini. I fell in love with the property, the grooming and making people happy. After a number of years the local Nordic Club expanded and moved to a different location. With my desire to get out and groom trails for people to ski I acquired my own equipment and started grooming the Blue Gate Nordic area. The Blue Gate Nordic area has attracted thousands of skiers each season and it continues to be a popular area very close to Sandpoint. I’m continually exploring new areas and this past year discovered Hickey Farms. In partnership with Hickey Farms (Jim Hickey) we groomed for the first time in 2023/24 ski season and look to improve that area for next season. I helped Section 16 in Boundary County get off the ground and also continue to explore for larger better venues.
